This temple was established by Maharaja Yudhishthira on the instruction of Lord Krishna to win Mahabharata. It is also recognized that the heretical image is self-contained here. It is believed that during the Mahabharata period, when the Pandavas were in trouble, Lord Krishna asked them to worship this temple of Maa Baglamukhi. After worshiping the 'Triguna Shakti Swaroopa,' Pandavas got rid of their problems and won their lost kingdom back. Ancient Hindu texts say that the foundations of the temple were laid by Lord Brahma himself.
Trishakti is enshrined in this temple. On the right side of 'Siddhidatri Goddess Baglamukhi' is Dhandayini Mahalakshmi and on the left side Vidyadayini Mahasaraswati is placed. There are also statues of Krishna Ji, Hanuman Ji and Bhairav Baba at the temple. Here the Shaivas and Shakta Margi saints and saints from all over the country come to Tantric rituals.

Nearest Railway Station Ujjain Junction (UJN), which is 98 km away from Mata Buglamukhi Temple, Nalkheda. From Ujjain Junction station, devotee has to go by road to temple, which will take approx. 2 hours. Ujjain is connected by rail to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and other major cities .
Nalkheda is a town (Tehsil) and a nagar Parishad in Agar Malwa district. Agar Malwa district is well connected by road. Devotee can come here by hiring a cab or catching a bus from Ujjain (98 km), Indore (156 km), and Bhopal (182 km). From Delhi, the distance by road to Nalkheda is 730 km.
